New weekly service connecting Norway with Iberia and Benelux

    In November, Containerships launched a new weekly service between Iberia, Benelux, and Norway. The new service provides access to Containerships extended rail network in Spain, as well as access to their southern Spain shortsea network with routes to from Morrocco and the Canary Islands. The new service will op ate in a three vessel setup securing a high level of reliability.

    Containerships operates around 30 routes covering the main coastal ports across Europe and Morocco. The short sea network provides a comprehensive coverage in the region.

    Expanding Containerships SCAN B (Scandinavian-Baltic) service prov des a rapid weekly connection between Southern Spain & Scandinavia.  Connecting the Ports of Cartagena, Valencia, and Algeciras with Oslo, Aarhus, and Helsingborg via transshipment in Ferrol makes for the shortest transit time available with just one transshipment.

    The new service will be operated by a hree vessel set-up securing a high level of reliability. Furthermore, the service offers a direct conn ction from Rotterdam to Oslo; combined with short transit times, making the service perfect for transporting fresh produce.

    Providing access to an extended Spanish rail and shortsea network

    Containerships operate various dedicated and non-dedicated rail services, providing capacity, reliability, and greener transport solutions. Currently, Containerships have 50-60 weekly reliable block trains through the main Spanish corridors. These services offer multimodal solutions to the main distribution centers of the Peninsula via the ports of Bilbao and Seville.

    • Each train can carry up to 30 units / 60 TEU​​
    • ​Up to 25 tons per unit for dry containers / 24 tons for 45’ units / 23 tons for reefer units ​

    The new service also provides access to Containerships southern Spain shortsea network with routes to from Morrocco and the Canary Islands.
