Handled 5 percent more containers in 2019

    In 2019, 5 percent more containers were handled over The Port of Larvik compared to 2018.

    With 83,000 containers of TEU in 2019, The Port of Larvik set new traffic records within the container segment. Growth was 5 percent compared to 2018.

    Total cargo volumes over Larvik Harbor amounted to 1.9 million tonnes, which was 21 percent lower than the previous year. The fall in freight is related to the fall in stone exports through 2019.

    Increase in the number of ferry passengers

    More and more trips to Denmark via Larvik Harbor. The number of ferry passengers increased by 2 percent to a total of 695,000 travelers last year. However, shipping by ferry went down by 5 percent.

    Sales revenues ended roughly at the same level as 2018, at around NOK 66 million. However, total operating revenues exceeded 70 million as a result of property sales.
